The brand was founded in 2016 by sisters Katie McClure and Erin Breen, following a transformative trip to India in July 2014. There, they explored places like Dehradun, Shahpura, Udaipur, and Jaipur, where they found inspiration in the local artisans, textiles, and traditions.


Meaning of the Name
“Mirth” means pure emotion and joy — the state the founders felt when they realized they had found their mission and purpose after the journey.

The brand embraces an ethical approach, valuing traditional craftsmanship — such as hand weaving and block printing — and collaborating with artisan communities in India and Peru, contributing to fair income, cultural preservation, and social impact.

Initially focused on caftans, the brand expanded into contemporary women’s apparel with resort roots, incorporating Peruvian knits in 2022.
